Naples, Fl – The David Lawrence Center, Collier County’s only comprehensive, not-forprofit mental health and substance abuse treatment facility serving children, adults and families, is proud to pair up with IMHRO (International Mental Health Research Organization) to host the first ever Sound Minds™ Music Festival and Mental Health Symposium. The event will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the Naples Botanical Gardens with an exclusive dinner for VIP guests immediately following at Windstar on Naples Bay.

Sound Minds™ is modeled after IMHRO’s wildly successful Music Festival for Brain Health held annually at the Staglin Family Vineyard in Napa Valley for the last 20 years.

The symposium is from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. and will feature nationally renowned scientists, local experts and mental health advocates for brain science and early detection and intervention. Symposium attendees can learn how to recognize early signs in youth to interrupt the negative course of some mental illnesses and improve the long-term outcome for individuals in our community from the following featured keynote speakers:

• Carrie Bearden, PhD, Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences and Psychology at UCLA
• Scott Russo, PhD, Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of
  Medicine at Mount Sinai
• Scott Haltzman, MD, Senior Psychiatrist, Outpatient Medical Services at the David Lawrence Center; Distinguished Fellow, American Psychiatric Association and Author
• Brandon Staglin, Mental Health Advocate/Consumer and Director of Marketing
  Communications for both IMHRO and the Staglin Family Vineyard

The presentation will be followed by a moderated audience Q&A session with seasoned television personality Fox 4 news anchor Patrick Nolan who will serve as the event emcee.

After the symposium, ticket holders will enjoy a private “meet the speakers” reception, wine tasting and concert from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the picturesque Mosaic Garden of the Naples Botanical Gardens featuring live performances by local artists Alex Dean, Chloe and John Bowlin.

For VIP guests, the evening will be capped off with an exclusive dinner experience at 6:30p.m. at Windstar on Naples Bay featuring wine parings from the acclaimed wines of the Staglin Family Vineyard. VIP tickets which include access to the symposium, reception, concert and dinner are $1,000 per person. For individuals wishing to attend the symposium, reception and music festival the cost is $125 per person. Sponsorship packages are also available. Proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales will allow the symposium only to be free to the public, helping spread awareness to hundreds of students, mental health and healthcare practitioners, concerned citizens, consumers and supporters. Although the symposium is open to the public, preregistration is required and there is a limited capacity.

Proceeds will be shared between David Lawrence Center to provide mental health and
substance abuse services to children, adults, and families in our community and IMHRO to fund their neuropsychiatric research initiatives.
