Caryn Hacker-Buechel is the author of The General’s Princess (MindStir Media, 2025), a 540-page romantic military thriller that became an Amazon bestseller. Drawing on thirty years as a licensed psychotherapist, she writes with rare psychological depth — characters shaped by real trauma, resilience, and the complexities of human behavior — set against rigorously researched military operations vetted by consultant Brigadier General Ed Dyer (Ret.).

Before fiction, Caryn worked in adolescent residential treatment facilities, mental health centers, and private practice groups. She also delivered more than 500 lectures on mental health to businesses and organizations, taught undergraduate sociology, and written freelance journalism for magazines and newspapers — the reporting years that first taught her to love writing.

Her personal journey — through love, marriage, children, divorce, travel, stepchildren, and grandchildren — infuses her work with vivid, lived insight. She writes full-time in Naples, Florida, where she speaks regularly to book clubs, civic groups, and conferences.
